45 Years of Supporting Women in Business
Business Women’s Network (BWN) began in 1979 as ‘The Women’s Network’ with the goal of providing an informal networking setting for women. In 1992, the group refocused to provide a more formal networking organization and incorporated in November of that year.
BWN’s commitment to empowering women was further demonstrated by the creation of the BWN Scholarship Foundation in 2000. Since its inception, nearly $100,000 in scholarships to local women returning to school to complete or further their educations have been granted.
A volunteer Board of Directors runs BWN, which has nearly 250 members representing large and small businesses, non-profits, government and private organizations. Although most members live or work in Howard County, individuals from all over the Baltimore-Washington Corridor attend monthly meetings.
- We are celebrating all year by awarding members for doing what we do best—engaging with BWN and BWN members. Simply use this (form) and collect points for attending meetings, bringing friends and hosting events. Great BWN @ 45 prizes will be awarded at our Anniversary Party!
