Events

At Business Women’s Network of Howard County, we make it easy for members to gather, connect and grow—together. One of the best ways to make the most out a BWN membership is to actively participate and build key relationships with other small business owners at our business networking events. Getting involved with BWN means meeting new people, making more meaningful contacts and implementing key insights learned from other successful women in business.

Every month, BWN hosts business networking events throughout Howard County so members can build their networking skills, gain support for their small business and enhance their business education. We know our members are busy building their business, so we offer three convenient options throughout the month for members to get together and showcase BWN’s most valuable benefit: building relationships.

REMEMBER: Members can receive an early registration discount on the cost of luncheons.

Bringing a guest to a luncheon? Register your guest online when you complete your registration. Register by noon the Friday before the meeting and your guests also get the Early Bird Member rate.

SMALL BUSINESS NETWORKING DONE RIGHT

Let’s Get Together

Flexibility is critical when finding time to attend small business networking events because work doesn’t always begin at 9 a.m. and end at 5 p.m. Whether you prefer to meet in the morning, at noon or at night, BWN has you covered. Or, maybe you’d prefer to meet virtually. Don’t worry, we also offer select online meetings to help make networking accessible for members.

8:30–10 a.m. Coffee Meetups: Some members are freshest in the morning and prefer to meet over a hot cup of coffee. BWN offers members the opportunity to host coffee meetups at their office or a local café in Howard County. There is no presenter and this event provides participants a more casual environment for members to network.

11:30 a.m.–1:30 p.m. Luncheons: Generally held at a location in Howard County that can accommodate at least 100 members, luncheons are our prime networking opportunity for members and their guests and often feature a speaker who presents a topic identified via an annual membership survey. During luncheons, BWN also honors volunteers, awards members and collects donation items to benefit a local nonprofit organization.

5–7 p.m. Happy Hours: Located at local restaurants and bars around Howard County, BWN happy hours are a lot of fun. Like coffee meetups, members can also host happy hours. There is no presenter and this event provides members a more relaxed environment for networking.

BWN has been so welcoming since the first time I was invited to attend a lunch! When I walked into the room with over 100 people, I had no idea of all the incredible friendships and community partners I would build. Very grateful for an organization like BWN, that appreciates their members and encourages and empowers us all.

Cohorts & Clubs

Having access to businesswomen from like-minded industries can push a small business idea beyond its tipping point, turning a challenging concept into a successful reality. BWN’s cohorts were created so members can share ideas in a smaller, supportive group setting. BWN’s Golf Club offers another way for members to connect and learn from each other while hitting the links and having fun.
