At BWN, we’re passionate about supporting women in their pursuit of education, training and career development.
The Lifelong Learner Scholarship was established in 2000 to help women throughout our community pursue further education, training programs, or certifications so they can realize their goals, build a sustainable career in the industry of their choosing, and become more independent.
Up to eight $1,500 scholarships are awarded each year, helping recipients cover the costs of tuition, books and materials, training courses, certifications, and other related educational expenses.
Each scholarship recipient has a unique story. They are mothers, grandmothers, caregivers, teachers, lawyers, business owners, nurses and more. Some have overcome great adversity; others are reinventing their careers and their lives. All are inspiring.
The BWN Scholarship Foundation is proud to support Howard County women in pursuit of a brighter future.
The 2024 applications are now closed. Please check back in Spring 2025 to apply for the 2025 Lifelong Learner Scholarship. Scholarships are awarded at a special ceremony that takes place each June.
I am 50 years old, a mother of four and a grandmother of six. I have been on this journey of furthering my education for some time. Nursing is my greatest passion and obtaining my RN, BSN, and MSN is my goal and desire. This scholarship has truly inspired me to work extra hard.
